Rabbit Ears Mountain
Union County New Mexico
Six mi. NNW of City of Clayton, via NM 370. Rabbit Ears Mountain, on private ranch land, is skirted on the W by NM 370, the road to Clayton Lake State Park and can be seen from the Scenic Byway.
These 6,062' high twin volcanic peaks, distinctively shaped especially from the NE (the SFT), dominate the High Plains landscape for several miles in all directions. The Cimarron Route of the SFT passed about 7 mi. to the N. The photograph is taken looking E from Mt. Dora.
